The updated Audio Visual Expenditure Credit (AVEC) applies to both film and TV at 25% of 80% of core expenditure (approx. 20% overall) and the new indie film tax credit provides an impressive 40% effective credit for qualifying films of up to £15m. UK VFX work can also be eligible for a 39% tax credit that is outside the scope of the 80% AVEC cap.
